The first workshop introduces the couples practices in an atmosphere of loving support.  The advanced workshop builds on the foundation of the first and the couples' commitment to continue the practices together.

These workshops assist couples in breaking through the resistance and old patterns that prevent them from experiencing the deepest possible intimacy in their erotic/spiritual relationship.  What is being transcended is the collection of attitudes, images, and patterns which, together with the winds of worldly existence, create the familiar ups and downs of a secular relationship. However, transcending doesn't mean rejecting. Rather it means embracing secular reality and going beyond the dance of personalities into a realm where the erotic life of the relationship and the spiritual life of the partners become increasingly unified.

Through the art of sexual communion, couples learn to experience the powerful energetic shift that occurs when orgasm is no longer held as the automatic and controlling goal of lovemaking. 

The focus of these retreats is The Way of Council for couples - listening and speaking from the heart. Dyadic Council provides sacred space for sharing deep issues and longings. Council is a non-hierarchical form of deep communication where each person is empowered to speak. It's primary intentions - listening and speaking from the heart - encourage genuine self-disclosure and attentive empathic listening.
Couples have the opportunity to apply the principles and techniques with gentle yet radically honest feedback and guidance.  Men's and women's councils open the door to deeper exploration of the roles we play and the common ground we share.  Dream sharing enhances our appreciation of the imaginal and reinforces our sense of connection. Meditation and energy practices are also introduced to help each become more aware of the relational field as we move towards spiritual oneness.
Couples council together in the presence of a marvelously powerful circle of lovers, and this practice of witnessed council is offered after the weekend through gatherings.  These circles are open to graduates of the workshop who would like to deepen their practices through the support of a community of couples in partnership.

On the path of transcending relationship the partners co-create a partnership that is fluid, expanding, and whose conscious intentions include service to others.
